UNIVERSE is the first collaboration album by me and Skip Murphy. It was originally released on cassette in 1992 (30 years ago!), duplicated from our homes on multiple cassette decks, with the cassette covers being printed on recycled paper with a dot-matrix printer (the limited edition CDr replicates this appearance). The original release was sold in limited quantities in the Redding, California area while we were performing at various venues, radio stations, and art fairs to help raise money to finance our first CD (which would become "The Eye of the Storm" in 1996).

These songs have been fully remastered. Two songs (Sheppard Moon and Universe) are now released in their full-length versions and have never been previously heard in their entirety by the public. (The songs were shortened to make room on the cassette album) This 30th Anniversary Edition comes with a bonus track, "A New Wold", which almost went on the cassette, but was replaced by "Constellation". The original master tapes for "Into the Black Hole" and "After Time" have been lost to time and a fire. These two tracks were salvaged by a first generation cassette copy of the master cassette tape. The other songs were remastered from the Master HI-FI VHS tapes.
